Vigil — Support

Vigil is on-device AI for your screenshots: it reads the text in every screenshot, sorts them into smart categories, writes one-line summaries, and finds the right one the instant you type. Answers to common questions are below — or use the contact form and I'll get back to you within a couple of days.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Vigil ask for photo library access?

Vigil needs it to find and index the screenshots in your library. Everything it reads stays on your device — see the privacy policy. If you denied access, you can grant it later in Settings > Apps > Vigil > Photos.

My screenshots aren't showing up.

Check that Vigil has photo access (see above), then pull down or reopen the app to trigger a re-index. Indexing a large library takes a moment the first time — screenshots appear as they're processed.

What's included in the free version?

The full experience — AI search, categories, summaries, smart actions, cleanup — for your first 100 screenshots. There are no feature gates.

What is Vigil Pro?

A single one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited screenshots. No subscription, no recurring charges.

How do I restore my Pro purchase?

On a new device, or after reinstalling: open the upgrade screen and tap "Restore Purchases". The purchase is tied to your Apple Account, so it carries over at no extra cost.

Does deleting screenshots in Vigil delete them from Photos?

Cleanup suggestions only delete what you explicitly select, and iOS shows its own system confirmation first. Favorites are never suggested for cleanup.

Is my data synced or backed up anywhere?

No. Vigil is local-only by design — no accounts, no cloud, no uploads. Your screenshots themselves remain in your photo library and are covered by your normal device backup.

Which languages does Vigil support?

English and Slovenian, on iPhone and iPad.
